American Pharoah wins First Triple Crown- History has been created! American Pharoah, ahorse of legend, proved himself by flouting the odds!
Breaking the ice, after 37 years, the American Pharoah along with Victor Espinoza have marked the history and became the first triple crown winners by winning the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes.
American Pharoah, the horse that own the trophies at both the 2015 Kentucky Derby and the2015 Preakness Stakes, became the first Triple Crown winner by winning the Belmont Stakes on June 6. This lead was accompanied by his jockey, Victor Espinoza, 43, and thus it conquered all the three titles since 1978! Victor is also the oldest jockey to ever win the Triple Crown.
The American Pharoah’s performance has been incredible since its so hard for a single horse and jockey to take home all three victories in a single racing season, but the 3-year-old horse and Victor did it! Winning the Triple Crown has been one of the hardest feats in thoroughbred horse racing. The third track, Belmont, is much different than the other two, and usually trips up a horse in their attempt to win the Triple Crown.
