Jaguar Land Rover Still Out Of The Electric-Car Market
Jaguar Land Rover has no fully electric car in the range, but chief executive Ralf Speth tells that there is no need to worry.
That is not to say that Jaguar Land Rover is working on the development of electric cars: in the coming months, the group is believed to depict the Project Evoque E, a concept car for electric Range Rover Evoque.
Speth expects that the above-mentioned drawbacks of battery technology with the introduction of the next-generation batteries largely disappear.
“Battery technology today is still too heavy, too expensive and the [power] density is too low,” he said, following his speech at the event. “As we learned at school, there’s this correlation between mass and energy and as long as this is not favorable, even if you recuperate, this is an issue.”
