Microsoft Wins Patent Case Appeal Against Google
Microsoft has won a lawsuit against Google over excessive license fees. The Internet giant needs a compensation of 14.5 million dollars to pay Microsoft.
Microsoft will pay licensing fees to Google to use specific patents, including WiFi and download patents. The patents can download smartphones videos, connect to Wi-Fi networks or answer incoming calls – regardless of manufacturer.
The lawsuit is important in the technology world because several other companies pay the same license fee to Google. Including Apple, Intel and Hewlett-Packard which pay for the use of the same patents. These companies have been fighting way longer than Microsoft for lower licensing from Google.
